We had an issue where when we went to decom a site in CUCM we couldn’t delete the devicepool because there were “hidden phones”

Get the PKID for the DP you want to delete either from the url in CUCM or using the following (replace “DP_sitenametoberemoved” with the name of the devicepool)

Run sql select pkid, name from devicepool where name = ‘DP_sitenametoberemoved’

Then run the following to select the phones and verify the numbers match according to the dependency records. (replace the pkid with yours.

run sql select tkmodel, loadinformation from defaults where fkdevicepool like ‘%07bb5c8c-6490-4b26-aafd-44e49958369d%’

This returns the current LDAP Filter

run sql select filter,tkldapserver from ldapfilter

This allows you to update the LDAP filter to something else ( I based mine on the exchange server but you can use a custom attribute or what ever you want to group your users)

run sql update ldapfilter set filter=’(&(objectclass=user)(!(objectclass=Computer))(!(UserAccountControl:1.2.840.113556.1.4.803:=2))(!(msExchHomeServerName=LabExchW2K3)))’ where tkldapserver=1

The first one will return any user with a ‘Raw’ entry in their Fast Dials. In a nutshell it returns entries from the personalphonebook table that have a “NULL” values in the fkpersonaladdressbook column or a “0” in the personalfastdialindex column. The null means there is no corresponding entry for the fastdial phone number in the PAB and the “0” means that the PAB entry isn’t associated to a fastdial.

Voice Translation Rules v2

couple of notes:

I’m using VMWare ESXi 4.something and I had to use the older VMware 4 machines and not the new VMware 7… I’m not sure why it’s prolly something with my setup. What I found was that after a couple of minutes the Webpages for CUCM and Connection would become non responsive.

I set the machines up as Red Hat ES3.

Change EnableMLA  from T to F

configure IP helpers in the layer 3 device (switch in our case) and let it forward the netbios … or configure the failover server in the registry of each server…
